Dad was the youngest of seven brothers and grew up in Hardingham, his hobby was cars and motor bikes, which when he was older became a motor mechanic, which he loved doing.Dad was a very good mechanic and always had time for his customers, if they called him out late at night or holidays, he would always go and help them out.
Dad's hobby's were watching speedway or any other motor sport, he enjoyed going to his local pub and meeting up with his friends at the weekend.


There is my sister Ali who is married to Barry, they have a son called Kieran and a daughter called Emily.
I am married to Tony and we have a daughter called Cherrelle,

Dad was tragically killed at Santa Pod on the 10th September, he was watching as a spectator when one of the dragster car engine part's exploded and hit him in the chest and killed him.We have to attend his inquest in October, so maybe we will get some answers on how this could have happened.We still cannot believe this has happened to our Dad, it just shows you life can be very short for some of us and we must all make the most of it and each other while we're here !
We went to see the Crown Prosecution before Dad's inquest as we received information from our solicitor that the bolts which should have been done up and all present on the explosion tank were not all put back on, the driver of the car was aware of this but didn't have time before the race to do this. We as a family cannot believe that this was a experienced Dragster racer , who knew that all these bolts had to be in place, couldn't be bothered to do this, if he had our Dad would still be with us today as a explosion tank retains any broken parts if there is a fault, obviously not all bolts done up the tank does not do what it's designed to do. We were told that as this is the first time anythinh like this has happened in England they cannot prosecute !If this ever happens again they will be prosecuted ! Even though it is stated in the drivers rules and regulations that all bolts are to be done up ! the driver was foreign and said at the inquest he had never read these rules as they were in english ! What is more painful is that this driver is still driving today, and there are no checks on cars for this before races ! My Dad loved going to Santa Pod and how ironic he is killed there due to insufficient safety rules followed by so called experienced drivers !!!!! and nothing is done !!!!!! what justice is there in this world !

I think about you every day and long to hear you speak to me or just smile, I know I am so lucky to have a Dad like you, I just feel so cheated that you were taken from me before your time.
I know the pain I feel when I think of you will gradually go, so people keep telling me, but I just cant believe you're not here with me sometimes.
All the things you had planned to do when you retired, and all the dreams you still had !
I hope you look down at me and are proud of me, I always wanted to be a good daughter to you and I know Ali did too !

I love you and miss you so much and I will never forget you, when ever I go in the sitting room I always look at the picture of you and say " hi Dad "
it's like you are still with me but I just cant hear you or hug you.
